Along with 12 others, I'm starting preparations for my second trip to Uganda, specifically the village of Wakisi near Jinja. I had the opportunity to visit this village in August 2007 when a group from my church in Kitchener, Ontario traveled to share the blessings we have as Christians living in Canada with those who are less fortunate (at least in some ways). It was definitely a highlight of my 50 years so far on this planet.
The second trip will be with another group from my church, leaving mid-January 2009 for a couple weeks. In preparation, we're fundraising, getting some cultural briefings, planning in general terms the work we'll do while there and taking preemptive steps against illness.
The purpose of this blog is to allow those interested to stay in touch with what's going on (from my biased perspective!!). I hope you enjoy.
